Dear Friends!
Thank you so very much for your continued partnership in prayer with the Wehrles and for the launch of TRINITY United Methodist Church. Since our last prayer update:
1) I have established a formal mentoring relationship with a respected and successful pastor in the area - Rev. David Brownlee. I also have hired a coach - Jim Griffith. I also have established an intercessory prayer team with whom I can share my deepest concerns and needs for prayer.
2) TRINITY hosted a successful Christmas party that included 30 adults and provided childcare for 10 children. It was a progressive dinner that took us through three homes in the community and concluded at the Wehrle home. We made new friendships and strengthened existing relationships.
3) Partnership with area United Methodist Churches continues to grow - especially with Mount Zion United Methodist Church. This church is the only other UMC in our target area and is offering very traditional worship and programming that TRINITY will easily be able to complement. Mount Zion is a strong church worshipping at over 350.
For prayer:
1) TRINITY will be hosting its first “Tast and See” preview event on Saturday, January 31 at 5:00 pm. We will go heavy on social time and relationship building. Good food and coffee will be a must! We will also preview elements of our future worship service including music, a multi-media devotion from me, etc. We are also going to try something from the “emerging church” bag of tricks. We will have multiple stations for visitors to experience during a response time following the devotion. These stations will provide communion, prayer and annointing, giving, artistic expression, etc.
4) TRINITY will also empower one of our families to offer the Crown Biblical Financial Study. We feel that many families in our area are searching for financial hope. We can offer that through Crown and Biblical principles for handling and using money.
Again, thanks for your partnership in ministry and prayer! The Wehrles love you all very much. Stay in touch.
David

Hi David,
Sounds like good progress is being made. I wish Mom and I could be at “Taste and See” but that is not possible. It looks like a great idea. The schedule seems a bit ambitious but I think you will be able to bring it off. Offering the financial study will definitely attract some folks, probably some new folks. Crown is really conservative but is no doubt usable.

Hi David!
Sounds like you are doing well! I am impressed with your ability to meet so many people and form relationships. You are incredibly outgoing - I would not be comfortable at all doing what you are!
I know God will use your talents to create a great church. Matt and I will be praying for you!
Like Dad, I think a financial study is a good idea - lots of people need training in handling finances! ‘
Love you!

Hi David,
I pray that the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ is so vivid at the “Taste and See”……people just feel so amazed and excited.
I also pray that our good Lord deploys His might angels to guard and protect from any evil attemps.
I pray that you rejoice in the Lord, your gentleness be evident to all people gathered, and Lord reveals Himself.
My Brother in Christ, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)
