First… thanks for taking the time to read this!!! We are astounded at the great response to our request for help with the church logo. It is so nice to hear from all of you via comments left on the blog as well as see you vote!!! Please e-mail us or call us as well.
We are thankful for each and every one of you!
Second… We had a great vacation! The boys got quality time with Papa and Grandma. Janet and David got quality time with one another. Denver was great… great weather… fun stuff to do… smooth travel and accomodations… We especially enjoyed time with our siblings Geoff (Janet’s brother) and Emily (Dave’s sister) and their families. It was great to hold our new neice -Adalie - and nephew - Timothy.
We are thankful for an opportunity to rest!
Third… We are thankful for the opportunity to begin a new church! We have left the training and settling-in phases behind. Now, we are able to focus on contact and planning work. We have been making dozens of contacts all summer, but now we need to ratchet it up a bit. We are also filling the whiteboard and another banner-sized newsprint page with stickies and scrawlings as we sort out strategies and programs and plans.
Pray for our planning and our contacting, please!
Fourth… We are planning more “road work” in the coming weeks. Our next prayer update will be dedicated to that. On Thursday, September 25th, we need to head back to Kentucky/Ohio. David will spend a solid week working on his dissertation. Gabriel will have two surgeries to remove the t-tube and stabilize his airway - September 26th and October 3rd. Check out Gabe’s CaringBridge site for details on his healing.
Please pray for Gabriel’s surgery, David’s study and our upcoming road trip.
Thanks for joining us on this mission! Please let us know how we can pray for you.

Jesus Christ, my God, my Lord,
I lift up Gabriel before you kneling down under your cross just want to remind you of two surgeries that Gabriel will have.
Lord, you told us in Matthew 18:10, “See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tel lyou that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.”
Lord, send Gabliel’s angel to him and put a divine fence around him.
I believe Your promise in matthew 18:14, “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”
Thank you for Your promise, Lord.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, my God, my Lord, who is alive yesterday, today and forever.
So be it.
Amen.
